Fear is a real experience for dogs. They can be unsure of a wide variety of things, places, people, sounds and animals. We approach a fear response with a lot of patience and training methods that build the scared dog up such as reinforcement with high value treats, play and use clicker training to mark their choice to try something new or when making good decisions. One of our recent success stories is Dasher. Dasher was adopted from the local Jail Dog program to an amazing family who have been working with him from the day they got him about a year ago. In private lessons hes overcome a very scary obstacle (cue the dun dun dun music) the narrow hallway where his grandmas room is. Look at this boy willingly walk down the hallway into her room. Yes, hes still not 100% sure, but hes getting there little by little. youtu.be/btq4QbLyjrE
