Fear wins in Tecumseh. Residents can now rest more peacefully knowing that a cloud of chicken feces will not hover over the downtown area. Property values will not be harmed...any more than the 60% drop in the housing market over the last few years. We are safer now that coyotes will not harm little foo foo yorkies and princess kitty cats. Lastly I am appalled with the news presented tonight that some folks are raising chickens in town which is a direct violation of city ordinance!!! you know who you are!! You who have no respect for authority who just want to have some eggs to put on the table....you villainous slime! In all seriousness, I am disappointed with the Council. I dont think Tecumseh is as progressive as it claims to be. I agree with what Jessica Whitehouse stated at this meeting. We sell John Deere farm equipment on one of our major intersections in town. Tecumseh, the rural community that it is should be leading this cause and not fighting against it. We are allowing urban areas to take the lead on an issue that should be owned and mastered by the people who know it best. Concerning the backyard chicken folks; These folks that want chickens are good people. They have high ideals. Their motives are honorable. Swimming upstream in a river of fear is exhausting. But, nothing is impossible when the passion in your heart fuels your spirit. Thank you councilman Fox and Wimple for supporting back yard chickens. #backyardchickens #tecumseh #fear
