Features Correspondent Mark Rocha chats with Bombay band Spud In The Box on their first visit to Goa. In the short time they were here they have managed to garner a fledgling fan base with two power-packed performances proving that there is a viable audience for original music. An excerpt of the chat- Playing in Goa has been a dream come true for the band, and a part of the many milestones that the band had set. “Let’s face it, making it huge as a band in India is not very easy,” says Rajadhakshya, “So every show we play, is an achievement. There’s a very small audience for original music in India, and compared to a few years ago, there are at least a lot more festivals, so that audience is growing.” They performed live at Cheenos Goa s initiative to promote indie music every Thursday.
