Feb.3,1959 The Day The Music Died. A horrible winters night plane crash would take the lives of early rock legends Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper & pilot Rodger Peterson. As i continue work on our big 4 hour 50s special for sunday night i ask our 80s listeners and friends to check out this tribute video To one of the most tragic days in rock and roll history. https://youtube/watch?v=8I66d4T8szU The song Three Stars was performed by Rock Legend and Buddy Holly / Ritchie Valens friend Eddie Cochran ( of summer time blues fame ). Ironically Eddie Cochran would die the next year in a bad car crash. The Men sadly would leave us but there musical influence on the early years of Rock & Roll would live on and in many ways the 50s era pop culture sort of was reborn in a 80s version with both eras having happy go lucky pop culture and music aimed at teens and kids. Relive the era that would set the ground work for the 1980s a few decades later. join us for Were Living in The 1950s Sunday Night at 8 pm est on star1079
