February 1st In Two Zero One Four We Will Worry No More! Just Praise Him 40 Day New Year Devotional/Prayer Guide Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 NKJV Have you ever worked with someone that would only put out the minimum effort? You know, the kind of person that would never do more than asked? They never want to put forth any real effort, they are happy just getting by. They are never early, and watch the clock because they will not stay a minute past their scheduled time. Sadly many times these same people also feel entitled to every perk, whether real or perceived, that go to those who go the extra mile. We as Christians should never be of that mindset. God has called us to be different, to be the elite, not by just desiring it, but by earning it every day in the way we live our lives. I am not talking about our salvation because we know that by grace we have received it, not of our own work, but through Jesus Christ. No, what I am talking about is the way we carry on our lives at work, in our relationships, and in our private lives. We should be effective in all we do. Ours should never be the reputation of being lazy or taking short cuts. When employers are thinking about raises and promotions we should be their first thought. We should have the reputation of hard workers who put forth a strong effort every time. If you are a business owner your clients should have confidence that you will get the work done on time and within budget. Whatever you do in life people should see you as skillful ready to work and not slack off. This same verse in the Message bible reads like this; Concentrate on doing your best for God, work you wont be ashamed of, laying out the truth plain and simple. Live every day to its fullest enjoy work and life. Give it all you got every day. BBBB Today’s Ministry Focus: Dr. Michael Landsman, Faith International Training Center, Fort Myers FL Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father we thank You for every opportunity that you placed before us. Forgive us if we have ever taken these opportunities lightly and have not shown the world who You are through our actions. We know that the only Jesus some people may ever see us this earth is the one that they see in us. Lord help us to be better employees, employers, parents, children, husbands, wives and friends. Help us be a living testimony of who You called us to be. In Jesus name we pray Amen.
