Federal Parliament looks likely to again debate the proposed abolition of the Australian Charities and NFPs Commission (#ACNC) in the coming week - its final sitting week for 2014. The draft legislation program for the Lower House for the coming week has been released, with the ACNC Repeal Bill (number 1) slated for debate on December 4 - the final Parliamentary sitting day for the year. Support for the ACNC remains strong across the charity and not-for-profit sector, with significant recent work by the Commission keeping the charity regulator in the spotlight for all the right reasons. Despite this widespread support, the Federal Government remains in favour of dismantling the body. The full Lower House draft legislation program for the final Parlimentary sitting week can be found via the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet website here: dpmc.gov.au/parliamentary/reps/html/reps.html
