Many of you might have read about other districts making resolutions about high stakes testing or doing other events like holding rallies in support of LI Superintendents who speak out against what is happening to education in NY STATE.On Tuesday at 8:15 pm there is a Garden City Board of Education meeting. The BOE and Administration need to hear from parents - what are your views? For? Against? High stakes testing is not just about taking the test- it is about the money behind it. It is about taking control over what our children will be learning- keeping the high level of education Long Island has built. It is about taxes that will sky rocket because of Common Core test prep and the 2% tax cap that will kill all our programs. Please let me know if you are interested in attending the meeting. Sometimes it sounds corny but we are lucky to live in a country where we are educated to use our minds and speak out when things are wrong.
