Feedback from a customer who got the Overcome Narcissistic Abuse Course: Spartan Life Coach, Really appreciate your dedication and help with this subject. After spending thousands of $ on psychotherapy this last year for help recovering from my narcissistic family- (including narcissistic mother) i directly asked my therapist at the last session to give me some practical, usable advice for dealing w/narcs in my life. She said sorry, thats not how psychotherapy works! So, thank god I found your website online. After all that money I spent with her I felt even worse and like I was going in circles. It was exactly how you describe it with the limits of psychotherapy- I felt it was utterly useless and very expensive. But I often feel inspired and empowered after listening to your YouTube videos, and as I am going through your overcoming abuse course I feel much better/centered. It is validating to have someone just say- yes, it was abuse. And the practical info for day to day interactions is exactly what I was looking for. Your analogies and visualization are key for me- especially the emotional detachment from gas lighting audio trac. The image of them feeding off your emotions that they deliberately invoke thru reaction-seeking is very clear to me now. I struggled with this for so long allowing toxic people to take from me. And then always questioning myself they arent really being mean, are they? I could never trust myself. But now I do. I know exactly when I am being trolled by a toxic person- thanks to your graphic depiction/explanation. I have also found a couple of tells the toxic person gives if they are reaction-seeking you: 1. They will repeat the comment multiple times if you dont respond/react the first time 2. They will watch you face the entire time after they make their reaction seeking comment (I guess they can feed off of your visual emotional reactions too?) Sadly, I learned about these tip offs from my narcissistic 90 year-old grandmother when I visited her the last time and she did both of these things to me. Thanks so much for all your work on this topic. C.
