Feeding Fiction has officially been released for one week, and I speak for the entire band when I say that we couldnt be more proud of what weve done with this album, but more importantly, we couldnt be more thrilled with the response and support weve received from you all. I can tell you that we were as nervous as many of you felt for the album to finally reach your hands. We put everything we had into it, challenged ourselves to become better musicians and rewired the way we thought about songwriting. We also knew that this change would mean losing a handful of our fans, which has undoubtedly happened, and were perfectly okay with that. You cant please everyone, and in this case, we didnt care to please those individuals who were disillusioned into believing that we were simply another breakdown band. As the recent singles released, we saw the shift we expected as complaint after complaint came in about us not being heavy anymore, (rubbish. You dont need to play breakdowns to be heavy) selling out because we signed to a label, (also dumb, that isnt how things work. Roadrunner didnt hand us new guitars and say alright boys, here are your rock and roll instruments) among many other equally ridiculous notions, yet amidst this we saw equal parts love and support for what we were doing. Were still the same people in the same band, doing exactly what we set out to do: raise the bar that we feel is set far, far too low, and pack these songs full of emotion and life. We love the connections weve made with so many of you, through both our music and meeting you on tour, and this is what we live for. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all so much for supporting us through the release of Feeding Fiction, and thank you for continuing to listen with an open mind and an open heart.
