Feeling EGG-sasperated! Some of my 9th graders brought their eggs to school today (one dozen each) and I set up the cartons to make a walking path. You are supposed to be able to walk across the eggs barefooted without them breaking. Well... with each successive student that walked down the path, we could have kept the breakfast rush at Strawns supplied with scrambled eggs. The procedure said, You will hear creaking and crackling noises. Dont be afraid. It is only the carton squeaking. Uh huh...lies. The Bible is the only book you can trust! We somehow managed not to make a mess. This took place in the lunchroom. When we finished, I then gave them strict instructions to go outside and wait for me, while I cleaned up (we were going to do something with the surviving eggs) and DO NOT throw any eggs. I have had classes with some ring-tailed tooters before, who could steal sweetness out of a ginger snap without breaking the crust, but even THEY followed my instructions. I love these 9th graders, so I expected they would do the same. WRONG! In only five minutes or less, they managed to organize an egg toss and I see some broken eggs on the ground, soooo... Get upstairs. Back to the room. I finally get the truth out of them as to who was involved and I see one of them with an egg, Bring me the egg. Then, I see someone else with an egg. Alright! This is your last chance! If you have an egg in your possession, give it to me NOW. Eggs start coming out of the woodworks lol. This class is funny and they arent really bad, but they are old school mischievous and the freshmaniest freshmen Ive taught so far. I de-stressed this afternoon with a massage from Blue Cliff and I kept waking myself up snoring from the time it took the therapist to get from the top of my head to my arms.
