This vibrant musical celebrates the life and successful career of Agustin Lara, the most popular and revered composer of Mexico. Sizzling with loving choreography and joyful songs, the play brings the feel of the early 20th Century in a changing Mexico, when traditions and modernism collude to create an unforgettable generation of brilliant artists. During his career, he penned more than six hundred compositions, gaining himself an international reputation as the “Cole Porter of Mexico”. His popular melodies, from “Granada” to “You belong to my heart” were recorded for the most admired singers of all the times, including Nat King Cole and Luis Miguel. Lara lived a colorful existence in the shadowy nightlife in the city of his birth. Surrounded by pretty and passionate women, famed artist, and sometimes, dangerous criminals, his life was a fantastic story of talent and love.
