Feeling amazed that the God who created the universe--I mean He just spoke, Let there be... and there was! Im talking the farthest star and most distant galaxy out in space to the most microscopic particle on this planet. The One who holds together every cell so that it doesnt disintegrate in a great cosmic explosion--I stand amazed that THIS God cares for the likes of me, a tiny speck (think: the little flea you can barely see to swat away) on the smallest of planets in the universe. I am amazed that this God not only cares, but that He wrapped His own Son in human form (mind-blowing to say the least) and sent Him to hostile earth with the direct intention and expectation that He would abused, violated, tortured, humiliated, and murdered by the very ones He was coming to rescue. In short, I feel amazed that the great God of all the universe should seek and save a tiny flea of a man like me, and that He would--incredibly--use the ugly death of His Son to accomplish that salvation. I am amazed, indeed, that in 1978 he sovereignly set the pieces of my life in such an arrangement that I would encounter the Truth about this rescuing Son of God and place my faith in Him. I stand amazed; yes truly amazed.
