Feeling extremely sad but also very privileged today as a long time friend of the family, our Flukey Dog, reached the end of his journey. Fluke was rescued some 81/2 years ago when I saw him sitting at the back of a kennels at Hilbrae, no one wanted him as he was too big and ugly. In all the years we had together as a family never once did he growl, nip or give us anything but unconditional love, which I hope we have returned today in some small way by not allowing him to suffer. He was the very best dog I have ever had the pleasure to own and he gave us far more than we were able to give him. If you ever get a chance to take a chance on a rescue dog, and you get a gut feeling like I did when I saw Fluke, jump at the opportunity. It can be a life changing experience and I would rather have my old mutt than any expensive pedigree money could buy. Rest In Peace Fluke. I believe animals have souls and yours was and is beautiful xxx
