Feeling nostalgic.. so gonna write a nostalgic post. Just happenned to see an old AMD K6-2 processor which is now R.I.P in my store-room - that has triggered memories!!!! Its about computers.... The first computer/PC I ever used or operated was a Socket 7 processor - 166MHz system+1.2GB Hard Disk running Windows 95 OS. I used Windows 3.1 to learn Foxpro at NIIT (Foxpro puzzle was a favourite of mine, I faintly remember it now, but I remember opening Foxpro to try out the puzzle) and then switched back to Windows 95 and then to Windows 98. This was in 1997. The 2nd system was an AMD K6-2 3D processor running at 450MHz + 40GB Hard Disk. This was in 1998. Without a graphics card, or a NVIDIA GeForce card, I was successful in playing this game Maxpayne-1 with lot of lags :-p. Then Internet came into my life! VSNL - Dialup (an incoming phone call comes and connection is lost!!! kee kee screeching squeaking noise indicating the exchange/handshake - I remember Dewang Mehta (Head of NASSCOM) explaining how modem device works on a Sunday computer show). AMD K6-2 - I still have the processor kept safely as a momento. And then different OSs came -> Win ME, Win NT, Windows XP (still remember how the blaster virus blasted Windows XP OS by initiating RPC call and causing shutdown in 30 seconds!!! - with a message stating billy gates stop making money and start fixing your software!!!) ... and then P-3, Phenom / Semphron stuffs came into the market. Then in 2002 Hathwaya Cable Modem came - 64kbps connection :-). CD-ROMS running at 16x, and then 32x, then 52x, eventually getting replaced by CD-Writers and then eventually DVDs picked up. I always had an affection towards AMD more than Intel. Which is better by the way ?? ...
