Feeling overwhelmed by all the media, stories, the developments, and all the discussion around the children fleeing the violence in their home countries by coming to the US. The US cant have it both ways. We cant be the watch dog of the world and when children come knocking on our door, asking for help, keep them locked up in cages, and expedite their deportation back to, potentially, their death. President Obama cant invade a country, go to war, get involved in other countries revolution, claiming the US is the greatest country in the world and then say he has to worry about American children over foreign children from Central America. The children who are fleeing these countries are the same ones which the US helped bankrupt and create instability in the first place. So is it our problem? Of course it is. And it is the problem of the Central American countries and their leaders? Of course it is! And is it the problem of every day citizens? You guessed it, it is!!! Because God only knows if instead of you being put in your mothers womb, you might had been placed in the womb of a desperate, caring, loving mother wanting to touch and hug and have their child with you in a safer country. Its too late for the President to try to brush this issue aside. Its time for the US to take responsibility and its time to realize that our actions have reactions; they may not be immediate but the consequence of our actions sure do come to haunt us later. Its time for restitution. May this crisis teach us a lesson that no border, no wall, no law, is greater than the law of God. God created every single one of us, in Gods image. No one is better than the other, no one is more important than the other. We were all put on this Earth to care for one another, to love God with all our hearts, our neighbors, and our selves. The greatest commandment of all, to love, is the simplest and hardest task. The kingdom of God belongs to children. May God touch the heart of our President and of all those who are blinded by their fears, egos, and ignorance.
