Feeling pretty bummed and frustrated about horses hooves around - TopicsExpress

Feeling pretty bummed and frustrated about horses hooves around here. Everyday, its something. Yesterday, a mare I work on is back to being lame. She was having problems, owner changed farriers. New farrier seemed to make all the right changes, mare was wonderfully improved. For several months they were on the right track, then for some reason, the train went off the tracks. In the course of one or two shoeings, he has allowed her to slide right back to where she was and she is lame again. Another woman sent me x-rays of her geldings feet that made me want to cry. My neighbor rescued a Morgan gelding from PA who arrived with a beautiful barefoot trim. Perfect. In a few short months, her farrier has managed to get rid of his heels, and lengthen his toes, now has cracks. When he arrived, my gut told me to take pictures of his feet, but I didnt. Now I wish I had before and after pictures. Two or three clients have had to take their horses to a farrier to Northern Virginia, to a farrier recommended by Marion DuPont. Very, very frustrating when you are trying to help the horses. My problem is that I can see that it is wrong, but have no idea how to fix it.
