Feeling pretty disillusioned with America/people tonight. I literally fear the police and what they do. Im also just chilling, wondering if itll actually continue to be legal for me to marry a dude in Virginia for more than a month and if the Supreme Court will ever give a real shit about due process or equal protection under the law. People care more about being able to own fifteen guns than whether or not all of the 10 year olds Ill be teaching this semester will survive elementary school. Protesting in New York City seems to get you detained illegally if the NYPD arent on board with what youre protesting. Its unreal that someone can say Im trans and want to transition and people in power can literally just say nah and put them through hell. When I use the word feminism I usually have to back it up with a 30-minute explanation because apparently the concept isnt already simple enough.
