Feeling saddened here today. Paul took a drive through our old neighborhood yesterday in Detroit on his way to work. Where my old home stood , is now a large hole, nothing else. My home was gone along with 2 others on the block. I asked him why he didnt take a picture. Dont know why I asked that for I do not want to see what was my childhood home completely gone. He said he was too frightened to even stop. For Paul to say this, I know it had to be bad! Said it looked like a war zone and there were young kids driving around on their bicycles probably doing drug deals. To think the streets I played in as a kid are like this is downright depressing. How can a middle class neighborhood with hard working people from all walks of life, turn so bad in such a few short years? Just had to get this off of my chest this morning. Feeling sad and even sadder that I dont have a home that I grew up in to show my grandchildren.
