Feels like a new generation is rising!!! The first International Young Ensembles Platform has just been launched in Darmstadt Germany. Representatives from 15 new music groups got together for two days to share ideas and resources, form worldwide collaborations, and elevate the status of young ensembles in the global music scene. Our own director Amir Shpilman went there to represent us. We are proud and honored that EMP, as the only American ensemble represented, was able to take part in this exciting event, which is bound to kickstart momentum for new music, both in Europe and in the rest of the world. Among the initiators and mentors of this project are Lucas Fels (Arditti Quartet), Lucas Pairon (Musicfund.be Brussels), Thomas Schafer (IMD Artistic Director), Jennifer Walshe (Composer, Performer London), Tom Pauwels (Ictus Ensemble, Belgium) and more… Stay tuned for our pending 2014 season announcement!
