Fejiro Oliver > Benin Political Forum SUNDAY SERMON WITH F.O (WHEN PASTORS BECOMES OUR GODS) Since the news of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome vibrated across the air waves, twittersphere and Zukerberg Ville, there has been call by many Christians to avoid comments on the issues, with some telling those of us who dared to talk that we are in danger for merely posting what the two sides have taken. We have become a nation of hypocrites where we easily condemn actions by men we classify as ‘carnal’ while we keep sealed lips over the ones we call ‘holy men’. When I posted about their divorce some months back, the accuser of the brethren dared me to produce the court papers, which I tried to get but couldn’t as the source refused to reveal further; until the cable news dared to report the news without also showing the court papers. Why do we find it easy to agree that it is right for a ‘sinner man’ to divorce and even make it published in the newspapers but condemnable when it comes to a ‘Man of God? Has the same God not created both men or do we have different creators for each of them? It is simply clannish to begin to see pastors or whatever ecclesiastical appellation they confer on themselves as ‘gods of men’ and no longer ‘men of god’. No wonder a married woman will chose to respect her pastor more than her husband and even call him daddy while the husband at home who paid the bride price is not given more honor and respect or even given same measure. We find it comfortable to kneel down before these ‘gods of men’ but can never kneel down to older men in our families and societies even when they pray for us. What a nation of hypocrisy lived in my by demonic angels on cloths. It is time we begin to tell those whom God has placed as our shepherds than hide their sins. Why will those ladies who tempt the men of God, or the ones the men of God test keep quiet but when the bubble burst and we dare to report; they demand for their heads on a old clay pot (cus it’s not my head they demand)? Let the hard truth be told these gods of men that there is a fourth man that walks in the burning furnace and a voice who speaks in the burning bush who will demand of them souls of those whom they have made to fall from grace and salvation. In case you may not know it, be it known this day that many will fall from faith over the actions of these gods of men believing that they can also divorce if the men they see as ‘semi gods’ can do so. They have been given a commission on earth and they MUST hold it sacred to protect that mission given to them even with their lives. I do not judge and will never do, but our intellect must not be played with all in the name of a religion. He who must be called must have all it takes to keep the faith and not fall from grace, especially through divorce. On this I speak as a prophet and not the carnal man you feel
