Felicity Dowling • 2 days ago Working class communities need to organise again to defend their own interests.Thatcher attacked the poor and the unions just like this government is doing. The poor can no longer afford to feed themselves adequate calories. We had 49 councillors prepared to fight the evil that was Thatcher but we had communities behind each one of us.All it takes is for people to remember that it was possible then and understand it is possible now to have people prepared to stand up for the children, for our communities, to stand against hate crimes. We dont have to accept it. A better world is possible.Liverpools tradition of struggle is being rejoined in the struggle for the libraries, against the bedroom tax and against sanctions.Lets make that struggle grow! A new political movement based on fighting the poverty that is being inflicted on us by this government is growing in Liverpool and beyond.Left Unity is proud to be part of that.The older struggles are an inspiration.
