Feline Drama I have had my share of cat drama around our place - TopicsExpress

Feline Drama I have had my share of cat drama around our place lately. Against my better judgment I am fostering two cats for a friend. One is an older male named Edward who has been neutered, the other is a young female named Buttercup. Both have been teaming up against my cat, Max. Buttercup came into her first heat this past week. On more than one occasion I have seen Edward assume the position and try to mate with her. Of course all his equipment has been confiscated and so nothing happens, at which point he dismounts her and begins wailing with the most sorrowful wail, as if he is totally heartbroken and devastated at his inability. She seems like she is in torment with desire and he is following her around, talking to her and licking her on the head as if he is trying to comfort her. He seems like he is in love with her and talks to her as if saying, I am so sorry Baby, I would help you if I could!. It is so sad! Buttercup has gotten so desperate that she is throwing herself at everyone and everything. Walk by and she throws her butt in the air and starts mewling at you. Meanwhile the one member of the family who could help her out is Max, who is fully intact, but he shows no interest in her! At first I thought he was just holding a grudge at her mistreatment of him, but the more I watch the situation the more I think Max must be gay! This would certainly explain some things, like his excessive grooming, impeccable sense of style, and how it is that the TV so often winds up on Will and Grace reruns when no one else is in the room. It also explains why Edward and Buttercup have been so mean to him. They obviously attended Westboro Baptist at some point in their lives. Some people may be upset to find out their cat is gay, but not me! I am open minded and fully accept Max for who he is!! Truthfully I am just thrilled at the fact we will NOT be having grandkittens! Just to be safe, however, Buttercup is headed to the low cost spaying program this Tuesday. You never know when Max might stumble across a book on Reparative therapy!
