Fellow Barclays Bank customers, please be aware of a scam from someone purporting to be from Barclays fraud prevention department. After a fairly plausible story that a fraud has been detected on your account, the caller tries to get you to transfer money into a new current account to stop your account being compromised! After the call, I checked with Barclays who say they would never ask any customer to transfer money on line without a full investigation. Please be careful if you receive such a call, and never give any information to the caller. If they really are from the bank, they will have your details anyway!
