Fellow New York Met fans- do you remember? Id watch this intro in the early 70s and DREAM of being at Shea- that smell of cigars, beer, hotdogs - perfect on a hot summer day. Wed go to MAYBE a game or two each season - and Id mark the calendar each day in anticipation - practically losing sleep at the thought of a rain out. This is why baseball is special to many of us. It does things to us no other sport ever approaches. It is woven into our hearts and minds. It reminds of us of all the worlds we miss and long for.
