Fellow teachers, educators, and ESPs, CTA State Council will soon be making endorsements in Assembly and State Senate races. Many of you have received a recent email from Dean Vogel outlining what races CTA will be making recommendations in, and what the local interview panels recommended. I myself was on one of those panels. They consist of educators who live and/or work in the district that will be potentially represented by the candidates. The idea is to get local input from those who know the area, and the candidates. In one local Sacramento race (where I did not sit on the interview panel) for Senate District Six, the local interview panel recommended Roger Dickinson. I strongly urge CTA State Council members, and local Sacramento teachers to ask the CTA Executive Board to support this decision. I would further add that if you are a State Council member, you support the interview panel recommendation in your vote at State Council. If you are not a State Council member, please ask your state council member, and CTA board member to support this recommendation. Thank you, Alice Mercer
