Felt like sharing this with you all this morning. God said Draw nigh to me and I will draw nigh to you. This is so precious to me for a lot of reasons. For one its another beautiful promise from our Lord that He WILL be near us and make His presence known in our lives if we want Him to. But something else id like to point out is the order in which He said this. Because Ive heard people say well I dont have anything to shout about yet Im just sittin here waitin on God to move i dont know where Hes at. I got news for you. You gonna be sittin there forever lol. God said for us to draw nigh to Him and THEN He will draw nigh to us. We have to make the first move! We can all be as close to God as we want to be. God never moves away from us we are the ones who move away from Him. This reminds me of a sermon my dad preached about Lazarus. When Jesus was outside the tomb of Lazarus He told the people to take away the stone that was rolled in front of it. And dad said now why did Jesus have THEM move the stone? Jesus could have just spoke the words stone be moved and that stone would have obeyed Him. But He did not move the stone himself why? Well for one thing, Jesus didnt put it there. He was not the one who put that stone there. And sometimes we do this same thing we sit around waiting on God to remove a stone or obstacle from our lives that He did not put there. If there is anything hindering us from communion with God or true fellowship with Him we have to make the first move and get rid of that whatever it is whether it be a sin or just a distraction in our lives we have to make the first move and give that up, give it to Him. Jesus said if your eye offends you PLUCK IT OUT. If your right hand offends you CUT IT OFF. And He is not just talking about literal body parts He means ANYTHING that stands in the way of you and God that is hindering you in some way, GET RID OF IT. Notice He did not say if your eye offends you God will pluck It out. No. He said we are to do it. I hope this helps someone today that is struggling or is not feeling Gods hand upon them. If you are not very close to The Lord today, you can be. Just think about why you are not. Think about what is hindering you or standing in your way and causing you not to have true fellowship with Him. And when u realize what it is, just remove it and give that to The Lord and tell Him you want Him to have every part of you that you want to make Him number one in your life. Draw nigh to Him and He will draw nigh to you. The Lord loves us and wants us to have that true fellowship with Him. He is waiting for you to make that first move. Would you do it today?
