Ferdinand comes home! Welcome to Boston, Ferdie! We got out of the car and Kodak and Pratik were there waiting for us. Kodak and Ferdie did the whole butt-sniff dog dance for a couple minutes, then I took Ferdinand to the park across the street. He couldnt quite get the concept of doing his business with tons of people walking by enjoying a Sunday evening on the bike path, so he had to stand there and stare back at them staring at him for a few minutes before he decided it was okay to be a dog and do doggie things, like sniff trees and rocks and another dog... Then he guided me into his new house, and got to meet his othermama, Whidbeys human, Char and her son, Jesse. The moment we stepped into the apartment, I heaved a huge sigh of relief and joy. The smell of dinner hit me. Pratik made roasted peppers stuffed with spinach and pine nuts and goat cheese and raisins... heavenly, and the warm smell of cooking and the scents of trees and mulch and greenery from outside mingled with those scents that just make it your house... I was so happy to be home. I took Ferdinand on the official tour, and he eagerly ate his dinner and was happy to see a big bowl of fresh water waiting for him. But he went into transports of joy when he walked in the office and saw the giant basket of dog toys waiting for him. He was so overjoyed, he couldnt decide what to play with first! He picked up and dropped every toy in the basket just to see what was there, then greeted Kodak all over again. Kodak hung around the living room, watching this whole house tour warily. Another whipper snapper? Mom? Is that a good idea? I dont know about this. But he played with Ferdie readily enough and the two are now settled on beds in the living room while we eat dinner and catch up with life and enjoy a book. Welcome to doggie heaven, Ferdinand, its all yours, and its your forever home. Yay, so happy to be. back!
