Fergus has had an eventful week. On Wednesday, he was schooling for my friend whos currently without a riding horse of her own but doesnt seem to mind being shouted at by me in pseudo-instructor mode. They were working on transitions within the trot - getting a really small trot, and then a big one - on a circle, with extremely good results I might add. I then hopped on to show off a few of his moves and run him through a few bits and pieces (whilst wearing a rather garish Christmas jumper!). Yesterday, another friend, was down to check out a horse and came back to ride Fergs. After a rather disappointing day of failed horse shopping, I think Fergs brightened up her day! I gave her a crash course in lateral work (very few photos / videos as its hard to walk around helping / yelling instructions and use a camera properly as well!) before sending her off to play in canter - which Fergs absolutely loves to do! Hes a proper wee bouncy ball in canter and definitely raised a smile - particularly when I suggested walk to canters, picking up counter or true canter anywhere she liked! The simple changes at random places in the school game is one of Fergs favourite things to do, and I swear they were both grinning ear to ear by the end! I absolutely love watching people have fun with Fergus. It makes me insanely proud to watch people learning new things and achieving good work on him. Warm fuzzy feeling inside and all that... And I do enjoy having a good shout too... Well earned day off for Fergus today, quiet hack tomorrow, and clipping out ready for a lesson on Sunday :)
