Ferguson Onwo; their unending nightmare It is now an open secret that their lieutenants are more interested in casting aspersions on the person of Hon. Chief Ferguson Onwo than marketing their principal. At a time when public officer holders are giving account of the mandate given them by their constituents some three and half year ago, for obvious lack of any meaningful and verifiable project, they have resorted to needless denigration and smear campaign. Of course, we will certainly not join them in their dance of shame. While they ignominiously engage in their monologue, Ferguson Onwos team is reaching the unreached and bringing them a message of hope. Few days ago, a self-acclaimed specialist in introducing people to people asserted that he held Hon. Ferguson Onwos hand to Chief Ogba. He even in his unstable state insinuated that his recommendation let to the appointment of Hon. Ferguson as caretaker committee Chairman. This is for sure an insult and slap to say the least. So, cripples now dance ikelike in Isoko? There is a limit to the level of aberration that could be stomached. Now for the records, the man who made the claim is approximately 44years of age. Hon. Ferguson Onwo was elected councilor and consequently speaker of Isoko South legislative arm under the SDP in 1990/1991 (24yrs ago). As at that time, Chief Solomon Ogba was an aide to the then governor, Olorogun Felix Ibru. The question now is, does a council speaker and an executive aide need an Emore Grammar School student to be introduced to each other, or should we for the sake of argument assume that both men lost memories of each other less that a decade after, hence be reminded by some other persons even when it is still fresh in the memories of people till date how the respected Chief was a regular guest at the speaker quarters while Hon. Onwos tenure lasted? Inasmuch as one tries to stay within the ambit of civility, some persons attitude are better described as pathetically shameful. It is now crystal clear that in line with the political bourgeois demeaning believe that the people could be bought over during election year no matter how resoundingly appalling their representation may have been, our oppressors have opened their vaults and the hungry jobers have let loose their glutonic genie. Their conscience is for the highest bidder even as saner minds find their tag repugnant. Their continued trigger of the panic button preludes an impending all-round defeat. Even the image of Ferguson Onwo frightens the living day light out of them and posterity will make folkloric amusements of their loud crash programmed to be lucid soon.
