Feroz inaugurates Solar Power Plant at DH UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 06:- Minister of State for Science & Technology, Feroz Ahmed Khan accompanied by MLA, Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia inaugurated 20 KW Solar Power Plant at District Hospital (DH), Udhampur established by Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) with a cost of Rs. 50 lakh here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Khan said that the system would definitely minimize the burning requirement of electricity during the breakup of power supply. He stressed upon the hospital management to ensure proper maintenance of the plant by keeping close liaison with the Science and Technology department. He said that the government is endeavoring to install solar plants at all district and sub-district hospitals to make available round the clock energy to these institutions of vital service. In this regard, over 80% achievement has been made in the health institution of the state and remaining would be covered soon. The MLA apprised the Minister of various demands and problems including holding of awareness programmes at tehsil and block level especially in far flung areas. He also demanded solar home lights for left out Mohra where the provision of electricity is not available. Khan assured that all these issues would be looked into for necessary action. He directed the officers to prepare a proposal for solar home lights to the deserving with the active involvement of MLA and District Development Commissioner before its finalization. Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr. Chander Parkash presented vote of thanks and put forth various demands which included solar street lights and upgradation of solar power plant as per requirement of the hospital. Deputy Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Udhampur, Dr. Deepak conducted proceedings of the programmes. Among others, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal, SP, Udhampur, Sukhdev Basin, District officer, JAKEDA, Doda, Dr. P.K. Sharma, District officer, JAKEDA, Udhampur, Deepak Kumar, Divisional Manager, M/S Sova Power Ltd, Ashwani Raina, Chief Medical Officer, Arun Sharma, Technician JAKEDA, Vias Dev and other staff members of different departments were present on the occasion.
