Ferruginous-backed Antbird (Myrmeciza ferruginea) is a species of bird in the Thamnophilidae family. It is found in Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. Once seen well, the Ferruginous-backed Antbird can be appreciated as one of the most beautiful and charismatic members of its genus, being largely warm brown above, with immaculately patterned spotting on the wing coverts, a patch of pale blue orbital skin, a deep black face and throat delineated by white on the neck and breast sides, and a buffy ventral region. Females differ from males in having the chin white, contrasting with the black face and upper breast. Although their habitat is decreasing in size they have a wide distribution. The global population size has not been quantified, but this species is described as fairly common
