Festival of Fun’ the free family shows have been organised by Tony Peers Productions and will feature some of the best entertainers from around Scarborough every Tuesday and Thursday until 28 August.The fun starts at 1.30pm with face painting and a grand parade of cast and characters before the show kicks off at 2pm until 4pm.Tuesdays show will star unicycling boys Double Trouble, Julie Hatton School of Performing Arts, excerpts from the Scarborough Spa Summer show, 14 year old soprano Emmie Beckitt, singer Dean Stansby and pirate show ‘Captain Crackers and the Treasure Map’.Thursdays show will feature Magic Mike, singer James Aconley, Twilight Productions, Cameron Dunnington and vocalist Louise Willoughby. On 14, 21 and 28 August there will also be appearances by Connor Lawlor and Nathen Walters.The Open Air Theatre will also play host to bouts of American wrestling on 6, 15, 20 and 27 August at 1pm, where ‘good guys’ will compete with ‘baddies’ to entertain the audiences.
