Fetching compost from two of the back-garden bins last night, it was noticeable how very different the results were in the two different bins. One was solid and almost clay-like, but broke up nicely (to reveal a bonus ninja crop of potatoes) and the other was soft and sandy. Both will have greatly enriched the bed they ended up in, and the frog that watched the whole process from a nearby bucket didnt seem bothered at all. (I put sticks in the bucket to ensure it could climb out, btw, but it didnt seem worried either way). Good black gold on the garden beds - all it needed was time and a little labour - and they call this stuff waste! Its only waste if you *waste* it, you know :-)
