In quick response to Palestinian move at the United Nations, the Israeli government launched massive campaign to delegitimizing the Palestinian rights and welfare of having a full statehood at United Nations; claiming that the Palestinian attempt at the U.N is only working as a counterproductive. And that the only way to gain good results is through direct negotiations.. not by taking unilateral steps which only harm the future of the state of Palestine. Hopes shattered away: The Palestinian political bid at the U.N applying for statehood did not succeed. It failed to get a majority vote and muster the minimum 9 votes in the Security Council. Eight members including Russia and France voted yes with the Palestinian proposal. However, the United States and Australia voted no and five other countries including Britain and Nigeria abstained; indicating that they are against Palestinian rights of reaching its goal of having a state.. In the wake of this political bid failure, the Israeli government, following the strategy of tit for tat, cruelly cut-off Palestinian tax money. Not only cut the tax revenue which is Palestinian money, but also launched a political counterattack to punish the Palestinians for what they did as if asking for having a state is crime. Israel reaction to the Palestinian move: Israeli leadership started exerting pressure on U.S administration and other countries to isolate the Palestinians politically and cut all kinds of aid as a result of the Palestinian bid to U.N. More recently, the Israeli government asked the American Congress to cut-off American funds to the Palestinian Authority. Israeli government in a new spark warns of cutting-off electricity from the West Bank. Having said that, Palestinian kids and patients in hospitals would die out of this action. Adding to that, the Huda snowstorm which is mainly hitting West Bank and other areas would freeze Palestinians out in this perilous weather. Palestinian leadership sets eyes on the International Criminal Court: After the failure to win U.N bid, Palestinian Authority continued unabated in this direction and decided to go all the way to sign in international associations. President Mahmoud Abass, along with other Palestinian movements, signed an agreement to join over 19 international courts and association among them ICC and Rome statue. Israeli government did not like the move and started again and again putting pressure on the international powers to influence such decision.Palestine is not a state, and therefore does not qualify for membership in the International Criminal Court, the State Department said on Wednesday. But, on Wednesday, Ban Ki-moon stated, as UN Secretary General, that Palestine will join the ICC on April 1st. Having said that, the Palestinians can file accusations of war-crimes against Israeli leaders and soldiers. Such speculations over the political situation could be true. What has been politically cooked and the use of all political cards might transfer to actual war on the Palestinians - be in Gaza or West Bank. Simply due to the fact that the humanitarian situation is in no-where near good. It is rapidly deteriorating - crises emerge day after another.. Indicating to new big explosion which might lead to attacks and atrocities in the future. What is there at the end of the tunnel for the Palestinians? It is super vague at the present time.
