Lights indicates many things, not just one thing..lots of lamps need to be lit in order to get the knowledge to blossom and darkness to go. Diwali is when u light lots of lamp. Physical lamp is just a symbol...the real lamp is u..full of energy, happy, full of joy, Just Be lit up! It can only happen with knowledge, not money, not comfort or friends. So today we do Laxmi puja and give thanks to divinity mother divine and all angels, all gods..We thank them so much since this year u protected us and also pray that they continue doing the same thing in the coming year(smiles!)...so renew your contact with them, and not your contract with them (cheers and smiles!) with divinity...anyone who is in touch with divinity has no dirt of any sort...this is in every particle of the universe and is just dormant, it just needs to be woken up. Puja is the process to awaken that which is already there….Pandit ji will be chanting the ancient,ancient, first ever scripture of the Rig veda Sri strottam...then we will do ganpati puja to remove all obstacles in our path and then do the kalash pujan (pot of water) to invoke all the angels, devas and bless everybody on this planet..we bless that everyone should have good mind, heart, intellect and wisdom… There are three kinds of shaktis that we pray to: ichha shakti - the willingness kriya shakti - the ability to function And mahashakti, the wisdom and the knowledge These three are governed in the subtle world, we only see the tip of the iceberg, so much more is there...so puja connects us to the other side...just sit in deep meditation and bathe in the mantras. In India, we call it mantra snaan - the ancient sound energises our mind, souls atma and whole self. There will be 16 diff upacharas, worshipping the 5 elements So that’s called shradha - you start falling in love wth the unknown, then you start knowing it..and then you know thatMother divine is not just a concept, it is a reality of the universe, the subtle energy is so real.So till it becomes so obvious, we still start loving it..There are two steps - 1. love the unknown 2. you start knowing it also.. This is the veda and vedanta..knowing divinity and merging in it.. so we will sit and listen and finally .. mantra is the aakasha tatva/space element we offer lamp and rice.. And Happy New Year to all gujaratis and happy deepawali to everyone… Let it be a good new year to begin with ..and with all seen unseen divine expressions.. And what does yagya or puja do? It brings health swasthi, brings centredness...it brings in shradha and unshakeable faith and it also mproves the intellect You see faith and intellect and opposite forces and with puja, your faith gets deep and intellect gets sharpened, This is medha.. It gives you good name, fame pragya awareness, consciousness, longevity, , prosperity happiness, all benefits are mentioned.. Now Pandit ji will recite the mantra and we will sit with our eyes closed…
