Few things make us happier than seeing actors using their celebrity for wonderful causes! “He For She” is a new initiative of UN Women which declares that gender equality is a cause that benefits all of us and invites men to join the fight for women’s rights. Last week, Emma Watson eloquently appealed for a united front in this global issue that has wide-reaching ramifications in every country, every home, and every human psyche. Feminism, she explains, is not about hating or battling men; it is rather about the belief in freedom and justice and a world in which all people are treated with respect. With humility and self-deprecating grace, she accepts the mantle of leadership in this cause and challenges all of us with the questions “if not me, who; and if not now, when?”
