Few who have worked in basic industry in the U.S. would dispute - TopicsExpress

Few who have worked in basic industry in the U.S. would dispute that management is often characterized by a pattern of incompetence. But thats not the heart of the matter. Consider this comment by Senator Richard Blumenthal, Democrat of Connecticut, “It seems like the best report money can buy...It absolves upper management, denies deliberate wrongdoing and dismisses corporate culpability.” Also accurate as far as it goes but missing the main point: Be it the auto, rail, steel, aerospace or any other basic industry the insatiable drive for profit trumps workplace and public safety every single day. nytimes/2014/06/06/business/gm-ignition-switch-internal-recall-investigation-report.html?ref=todayspaper&_r=0
