Field trip plan to Underwood Family Farms with Elis classroom was foiled when I showed up at school to drive the boy only to find him complaining of a variety of aches and pains. A bruise on his right knee, a swollen right palm, sore toes and ribs. He doesnt remember falling or running into anything so this collection of symptoms is a bit puzzling, but then again he is my child and I often find bruises on me that I have no idea where they came from. Since I had planned to be at the field trip today I suddenly had time on my hands and went for a long overdue swim. Cant say Im disappointed with this turn of events as far as my body is concerned. I have a feeling Elis bumps and bruises will not be an issue when it comes time to knock on doors tomorrow evening and receive those tasty (nasty) little items that I abhor because they tempt me too. I will consider the swim a pre-emptive strike for healthy choices.
