Fifteen years after the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (APMBC) entered into force, the international community is preparing for its Third Review Conference taking place from 23 to 27 June 2014 in Maputo, Mozambique. In the run-up to the Conference, UNMAS hosted a roundtable today at the Palais des Nations, UN Geneva to listen to the views of key actors on the role of the United Nations in the on-going implementation of this Convention. Titled: Maputo: The United Nations – all ears the three-hour roundtable included frank and practical dialogue between governments, civil society actors and non-governmental organizations on the role of the United Nations in further implementing this Convention. The concrete feedback about the role of the United Nations in the future implementation of this Convention will be reflected during the conference.
