Fifteen years ago today (at 11:54 am, to be exact) William Takashi Burton entered our lives. I was immediately struck by the spirit of calm, loving peace he carries with him. I was 19 and had never changed a diaper before, and was totally shocked when first Heavenly Father entrusted him to me, and then the hospital let me leave with him. It was a LOT to live up to, and I have loved the journey! We love you, William. Thanks for being willing to be our firstborn, recipient of some of my most heartfelt parenting mistakes and source of many of my greatest joys.
