Fifteen years ago, when I first stepped onto a high school campus - TopicsExpress

Fifteen years ago, when I first stepped onto a high school campus formed by portable buildings, I knew that I was dealing with a crowd with the can do attitude. At the beginning, I heard stories of ONE teacher who would offer to help other teachers with their computers. He would squat on the computer and slowly pull/swap out parts. When the computer was finally returned weeks later, it would have: half the RAM half the hard drive etc. That teacher is long gone. Over the past 15 years, I have run into teachers borrowing toner cartridges from another classroom and conveniently forgetting to swap back. I am sure by now teachers all know that Id do whatever it takes to get things right—eventually. Its been a very trying school year already; the knife on the butter is no longer hot. Besides, the butter is frozen these days. One teacher (I must say takes the trophy for keeping the cleanest classroom on campus) cleaned his keyboard, but used excessive Windex and killed it. I didnt have an identical one to swap, so I asked him to leave it with me, but I didnt explain that I would get it replaced sooner or later. He picked it up from me within a day or two. Within a day, someone reported that one of the computer labs keyboard wasnt working properly. For more than a decade, I cleaned ALL of the 100+ keyboard on campus annually, but I have slacked off. As a result, the computer labs keyboards are just filthy. When I went to the computer lab, that non-working keyboard was beaming at me. I immediately linked it with the cleaned keyboard. I wrote a message to that teacher and he immediately replied: Crap…busted. All I have to say is that nobody is perfect, but I do work with a group of people who are honest and outstanding citizens without hidden agendas, and dont beat around the bushes. Martin Navaroli: dont you agree? By the way, there is a security camera in the computer lab, but I didnt even have to go near the footage.
