Fight mass incarceration in LA by supporting Senate Bill 323, which is sponsored by Sen. Morrell (D)/Sen. Adley (R), provides that simple possession of a small amount of marijuana would be a misdemeanor upon second and subsequent convictions, rather than enhanced to a felony grade offense with increasing penalties. This would reduce the number of people unnecessarily incarcerated, and, thus, the state would save millions of dollars in supervision and incarceration costs by making this change.
