Figured if I was gonna talk about my theorycrafted and somewhat unique runes and masteries for support nami, I should at least say what they are. If this is something you are actually interested in, its gonna be a long post, so enjoy. For those who dont care about this kind of analysis, feel free to move on, or simply just look at the pictures and come to your own conclusions. Im only a gold 5 support main, by no means am I claiming to be an expert in this kind of thing, or some kind of montecristo-level analyst. Runes: 9 flat armor marks 2 flat armor seals 7 flat hp seals 6 flat mr glyphs 3 flat mana regen glyphs 3 movement speed quints (the 2 armor seals is to round up the armor number to a nice and even 10, just a personal preference thing, plus more armor is slightly better than more hp, as explained further down) Masteries: 0/21/9 (to get the exact setup just check the accompanying picture) So the purpose behind creating this setup was to fit in movement speed quints (which Im highly partial too, due to easier bubbles and able to be very mobile in fights), while losing as little combat stats as possible. Obviously, this isnt possible with runes alone, so I had to swap the 21 utility in masteries for 21 in defense. I was very much ok with this, because while I like the idea of the utility tree, you cant use it if you blow up very quickly. The process of coming up with the final setup was simply a matter of trial and error, and finding which rune combinations gave me the highest stat gains, while minimizing stat losses. Explaining the final setup and the pros and cons of it would be better in terms of analysis. So compared to a standard rune and mastery setup for nami (with armor quints, full hp seals, and ad/hybrid pen marks, and 21 utility), I found my setup had a lot of increases in combat effective stats. Overall, I gained 5-8 armor and 6.5-8 armor (it fluctuates due too legendary guardian, and is relevant to the 2 enemy bot laners, otherwise the stat gains would be higher in a full teamfight), a gain of 4.5% movespeed, and only the loss of 16 hp and whatever marks you were using, assuming they werent flat armor. So from the looks of this, I view this as a much better setup (only a personal opinion), since I gain more resistances, on top of all the extra movement speed. The loss of 16 hp is minimal, due to having more armor/mr, which works well with Namis heal, since heals boost the effectiveness of any armor/mr I have. Overall, my particular setup is deceptively tanky, while having the benefit of a higher movement speed, making it easier to juke, land bubbles, and get around in a spread out teamfight. I would also like to add that Im very partial to building coin and its upgrades, since they also give movespeed. A nomads medallion and tier 1 boots (when combined with the percent increases from runes and masteries) raises your movespeed up to 392.2, which is absurdly high in the early and mid game. Also, coin and its upgrades give more mana regen than the spellthief item tree, and having as much mana regen as possible is critical for nami in the early game, at least in my opinion. If you have any questions or comments, or just any opinions good or bad about this setup or the analysis itself, free free to leave a comment, Id love to have a good discussion about it, considering you actually took the time to read the entire post XD ~Fones
