Fiji Football Association’s referees’ director Paresh Kishore says all the decisions made by match officials during the final of the 2013 Inter District Championship in Lautoka were correct and excellent. Speaking to FijiLive, Kishore said he thoroughly assessed the video footage of the final today and made clips of all the incidents. “I did a thorough analysis and upon the completion of my assessment, I can proudly say that the decisions of my referee and the assistant referees were excellent and accurate and I salute them for a great effort,” he said. “They were very active and prompt in their approach and made all the right decisions.” “I have made individual clips of all the goals and incidents like the off-side situations and the penalty which was awarded and all the calls were timely and people disputing the decisions can come to my office and see the clips.” “The two assistant referees did a marvelous job in picking up the incidents and the referee was always at the right spot and wonderfully made her decisions.” Kishore said he also watched the video footage of the semifinal match between Nadi and Labasa and claims that the corner from which Nadi scored was supposed to be a goal kick to Labasa were false. “Rakesh Varman rightfully awarded Nadi the corner kick as the ball last touched Labasa defender Posiano Kalisito and the video footage clearly shows this.” “I just want to remind and urge all district coaches and officials once again to attend seminars and workshops organised by us so they can equip themselves better with the rules and laws of the game and the changes that have been taking place.” “FIFA has made the learning process simpler now by making different clips and presentations about different incidents, fouls and so on and the district officials and coaches can really learn a lot from this,” he added. Nadi had disputed the penalty decision and had also claimed that Ba’s winning goal by Abbu Zahid was scored from an off-side position while a late goal by them which was disallowed was scored from a clear position.
