Fiji’s newly-elected parliamentarians have been urged to perform their duties with impartiality and fairness. The plea has come from former Minister for Women Dr Jiko Luveni after she was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives when MPs were sworn in this morning. Dr Luveni, who is the first Fijian women elected to the post, said she hoped her election would inspire women.
