File Organization!!! OK, so I have been away from home shooting about 250 days this year (with no laptop yet) and have come home here and there to dump loads and loads of images on my computer. Well, today I am paying the price by having to sort and organize all those files! Thats OK, I moves some files, play my guitar when waiting, move more files... Getting lots of practice in today! I now have something like 8 mega drives attached to my computer. So, only for those who would like to know my method of organization... It works and here it is: Place/date... Or Place/ More Specific Place/ Date I used to do it another way but at some point the data has gotten out of control. So in alphabetical order I have lots of folders such as: Mt Hood, Trillium Lake, Crater Lake, Escalante, Grand Canyon, Gorge, Sparks Lake... Then in those folders I have either sub folders to specific locations or simply Dates. Like Aug 2014... Works great because I can always remember locations... Then yes, I back up on site and off. No, I dont use any cloud systems.
