Film Clubs Are they an extension of Film Festivals? Or have we - TopicsExpress

Film Clubs Are they an extension of Film Festivals? Or have we always got to together and watched a film or two. The latter more so. A film Club atmosphere is somewhat cordial and professional. The dynamics are ideal for exposure and understanding. Listening and learning from fellow film lovers or enthusiastic and expressing your own opinion, a great esteem. People should not be afraid. Getting too friendly should not be the framework, polite and hospitable should be. A discussion that does not involve classrooms or any real guidance discretionary. No need to be pristine or have post graduate fever. Films Clubs are for the everyday Filmmaker, the one who does it not because of a lust for money, dollars or coins but more for an ambition, a proliferation of ideas and ideals. Thinking out loud, being noisy and prepared to be different. Stomach the pill of criticism and distinguish it from hate or hating. Listen to the person, see whether they are speaking sense, be reasonable and use the benefits of their opinion as a resource. Its a make or break industry, foundations need to be set from the get go. The length of time spent in post production delays or constraints the process. It’s obviously the key element, the material is just film or data. A gruelling process having an appreciation for Film from a fellow Film Clubber is a blessing. One that any Filmmaker should try and observe. It is difficult to watch your own work in front of an audience, their motions, moves and expressions means everything. Priceless reaction.
