Film Friends! What do you think about this idea of releasing and R-rated version, then a couple weeks later, releasing an NC-17 version? The article calls it a double dip at the box office - does this then set the stage for other movies or franchises to do the same? Would audiences pay twice to see the same movie (a tamer version & grittier version) or would they wait and just see the gritty one only? I imagine it could be interesting - but would probably be like buying a censored album vs. one with explicit content... 50 Shades people... what do you want, R or NC-17?
