Filmmaker Patrick Mureithis 2010 documentary, Kenya: Until Hope is Found, tells the story of a nation’s healing from psychological trauma after Kenya’s 2007-2008 post-election violence that left 1,200 dead and 500,000 people displaced from their homes. It focuses on a gathering of victims and perpetrators in Kibera, Kenyas largest slum and the epicenter of the violence, as they learn about various ways of taking responsibility for their healing; to understand how to confront unresolved trauma and heal and avoid more violence before the March 2013 elections.
