Final LCAD Update: Its finally over. No more headaches. No more stress. No more imminent table flipping. All I want to do right now is say some thank yous. Many people came together to make LCAD happen. Thank you to Emer, Goob, and Mary. They came out today (when they didnt have to) and helped with our final demo. Thank you to Tenchuu (one of our newbs). He attended the con, lent us his awesome Amtgard samurai sword to display, and constantly was checking up on the people at the booth to make sure we were doing ok. A HUGE thanks go to our demo-ers Randall, Sain, and Ilmryn. They fought both days for the entertainment of strangers, helped teach the newbs how to fight, reeved the fights, and helped maintain a safe, but fun, environment. Even though I already thanked him, a personal thank you to Kyle who stuck around on Saturday and even brought James and I lunch. A monumental thank you to Liricia. She showed up in her fancy garb, and sat all day Saturday handing out information. We had so many people approach us just because she looked so beautiful in her garb. Many of the young females became more interested in Amtgard when they learned that other females play and even hold positions of power. Lastly, endless thanks to James. For realsies, this weekend would not have been successful without him. He sat with me BOTH days at the con and even manned our information booth by himself quite a lot while we were demoing, seeing panels, or getting food. Plus, he helped set up and tear down, spread information via facebook when I didnt have internet access, and gave me a support when I felt like ripping my hair out. Over the course of the coming week, I plan on writing out a more detailed summary of the weekend so that when this time of year comes around again we have information on hand that may help the group decide if we want to do it again. Unfortunately, it may take a few months before we can see if it was successful or not. Hopefully, we get more members out of this taxing event.
